Origin
This stone, used since 7000 BC. JC, was found in Mesopotamia. These peoples used rose quartz to pray and advocate Astarte, the goddess of love, fertility and war. According to Greek mythology, Ares, Aphrodite's official lover wanted revenge on Adonis. He commissioned a boar which caused his death. In wanting to help him, Aphrodite injured herself in a thorny bush, while crystallizing, the blood of the two lovers gave birth to pink quartz.
